DONNACHIE/SIMIONATO/THIS IS A MAGAZINE
This is a Magazine: Compendium 5
Who I Think I Am
Edited by Andy Simionato, Karen Ann Donnachie.
This book demands interaction! The possibilities read like a laundry list for all of the physical things that can be done with paper, or to a book. The reader is invited not only to look, but to fold pages, tear out pages, draw on removable cards, fill out an artist's survey, then mail it in. There are stickers, postcards, bookmarks, posters and even a face mask. This is a Magazine: Compendium 5includes more than 200 color pages of artworks by 40 different artists, each inviting their own particular kind of engagement. 150 pages have been cut, sliced, diced, scored, folded and then stitch-bound into a hardcover book with a giant, laminated, do-it-yourself paper sculpture posing as a dust jacket. With inventions and contributions by Jennifer Dalton, Antonio Riello, Jim Punk, Joanna Beaumont and David Shrigley, among others, this is an instant collectible.
