From his early wax and plate paintings to his most recent works, New York–born artist Julian Schnabel (born 1951) experiments with an ever-shifting vocabulary of mark-making. Always on a search for new forms of art, he invites us to engage with the intensity of looking—at both art and the entire world. Nine Works presents a focused selection of key works from the past 50 years, installed in situ at the Château La Coste in Aix-en-Provence.
