Artbook Retail Stores Los Angeles Internship Positions Fall | Winter 2021
Artbook @ Hauser & Wirth LA Bookstore seeks highly motivated individuals with knowledge of and interest in contemporary art and culture for their Fall 2021 Internship Programs. The internship is in-person.
We are seeking a 16 hour/week minimum commitment. Hours need to be flexible in accordance with ongoing projects.
We introduce interns to the inner workings of an independent bookstore navigating the changing and expanding 21st century retail reality. Interns give us insight and introduce us to new ways and skills in our effort to keep our culture bookstore relevant.
—A strong command of reading and writing in English.
—Fluency with Microsoft Office programs.
—Online promotion via social media: Instagram, Twitter, FB, etc.
—Ability to multitask and keep track of long-term projects.
A strong candidate:
—Has an interest in current culture, art, design, fashion, music, etc., and wants to learn more about contemporary art and books.
—Has a background or interest in graphic design, writing, editing and/or research.
—Has experience managing social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) and creating engaging content.
—Has experience using the Adobe Creative Suite.
—Shows initiative and self-motivation. Cooperative spirit!
—Experience in livestream platforms such as Zoom, IG Live or Crowdcast.
—Familiar with Slack.

This is an unpaid internship program. School credit and community service hours are available to qualified applicants. All accepted into the Artbook @ Hauser & Wirth LA Bookstore Fall / Winter Internship Program will be gifted a selection of art books upon completion of the internship.
Founded in 2004, Artbook partners with cultural organizations seeking to enrich their programming with the manifold offerings of an independent bookstore. Artbook Stores are vibrant sources for cutting-edge art publications: presenting a wide selection of current publications on contemporary art and the humanities to contextualize art practice and criticism in unexpected and compelling ways. Artbook Stores own extensive event program features book signings, readings, screenings, discussions and experimental talks by artists, curators, performers and critics, serving as a hub for current culture.
Artbook runs an independent bookstore at Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles in the Downtown Los Angeles Arts District and MoMA PS 1 in New York City.
