In this intimate and poetic artist’s book, the Spanish photography duo Angel Albarrán and Anna Cabrera invite the viewer to witness the genesis of something primordial: the very birth of the image as a revelation of a deeper and more persistent reality. “Under a motionless and resplendent light, these photographs transform the world into an experience suspended in time, where the visible seems about to vanish and yet remains,” writes philosopher and art critic Federico Ferrari, author of the aphorisms that accompany the notebook. These oneiric photographs were handcrafted through the duo’s signature repertoire of traditional and experimental photo printing procedures, including platinotype, cyanotype and gelatin silver print processes, as well as the application of pigments, Japanese paper and gold leaf. Slim but potent, The Indestructible explores the convergence of photography, memory and perception through the artists’ singular visual world.
