The films of Scottish multimedia artist Rachal Maclean (born 1987) are full of oddly exaggerated characters living in fantasy worlds. Wearing elaborate costumes and makeup, the artist plays most of the roles herself, satirizing (for example) nationalism or feminism. This book includes essays and stills from her films.
This is the first monograph on Scottish multimedia Rachel Maclean (born 1986). Exploring themes such as childhood, identity, consumerism and the media, Macleans work uses the visual tropes and references of the internet era to create a biting critique of contemporary life.
