Text by Silvia Burini, Vartan Karapetian, Marie Tomb, Armen Yesayants.

Relocating to the Soviet Union after World War II, Armenian painter Haroutiun Galentz (1910–67) was influenced by French painters settled in the Levant, including George Michelet and George Cyr. Galentz developed a vivid style characterized by bright colors and emotional depth, which flourished in the cultural "thaw" following Stalin's death.
