Khartoum-born, Cairo-based artist Salah Elmur’s (born 1966) creative journey is deeply entwined with Sudanese cultural heritage. Stemming from his fascination with photography, nurtured in his father’s studio, he infuses his paintings with the nostalgia of 1960s Sudanese portraiture.
