For more than 40 years, Swedish Sámi artist Britta Marakatt-Labba (born 1951) has highlighted Sámi culture and history through embroidered landscapes depicting how the material world coexists with the mythological. Her work is also a significant inspiration for new generations fighting for the environment and Sámi rights.
