Doruntina Kastrati: The Echoing Silences of Metal and SkinDoruntina Kastrati: The Echoing Silences of Metal and Skin

Pavilion of the Republic of Kosovo — 60th International Art Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia

Published by Mousse Publishing.
Text by Erëmirë Krasniqi, Nataša Petrešin-Bachelez. Interview by P?nar Ö?renci.

Doruntina Kastrati's (born 1991) installation at the Venice Biennale apostrophizes the physical toil of Kosovan women working in food production. The metal sculptures, evocative of discs used in knee replacement surgeries, are molded in the shape of the nuts used in Turkish delight.
