VOTI Book Launch and Discussion at ICI Curatorial Hub

VOTI was an online forum founded in 1998—long before such forums were common—as a digital venue for discussion among contemporary art curators, many of whom are among today’s most prominent museum professionals. VOTI members included Carlos Basualdo, Daniel Birnbaum, Francesco Bonami, Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, Jordan Crandall, Okwui Enwezor, Charles Esche, Bettina Funcke, Hou Hanru, Susan Hapgood, Jens Hoffmann, Cornelia Lauf, Maria Lind, Hans Ulrich Obrist and Nancy Spector. This publication gathers hundreds of the e-mail discussions from VOTI, whose aims are just as relevant today as they were in the late 1990s. Topics of the book include: “The Museum of the 21st Century,” “The Economy of the Art World,” and “Cultural Practice and War,” among others.

The book launch for VOTI: Union of the Imaginary. will include an introduction by Susan Hapgood and November Paynter, followed by remarks from Carlos Basualdo, Jordan Crandall, and Hans Ulrich Obrist. Books will be available for sale at the event.

This event is free and open to the public, though seating is limited. Please RSVP to rsvp@curatorsintl.org with VOTI in the subject line.
