From 1998 to 2005, Belgian photographer Jean-Paul Deridder documented a temporary, collaborative, anonymously built adventure playground filled with imaginative structures and sculptures by young architects--symbols of free play and the appropriation of public space.

Between 2002 and 2007 the Belgian photographer Jean-Paul Deridder, born in 1963, visited cinemas in Germany and Belgium with a large-format camera to photograph projectionists in their natural environments. His poignant black-and-white photographs document the history of European movie houses and their demise--triggered by the rise of TV and digital technology.
