Robert Adams: A Road Through Shore Pine

Featured image is reproduced from Fraenkel Gallery's new collection of Robert Adams' photographs made in Nehalem Bay State Park, Oregon, during the fall of 2013. Jeffrey Fraenkel writes, "When I first saw these photographs at the Adams’ home they were in an archival print box on which Bob had written a title and some deeply felt words from the journal of the Greek poet George Seferis. The box, together with the pictures, suggested that feeling and restraint could be part of the same impulse." The title: A Road Through Shore Pine: To the End of Nehalem Spit, on the Coast of Oregon; the quotation: "A marvelous road, enough to make you weep: pine trees, pine trees…"
