The first monograph on a leading light of contemporary Spanish architecture
MiAS Architects is an internationally recognized architecture and urban design studio, founded by Spanish architect Josep Miās (born 1966), known for its innovative experimental projects. Since its founding in 2000, MiAS Architects has developed a discipline that combines sustainable technology, innovative manufacturing and cutting-edge construction practices. The studio has gained international recognition for projects such as its urbanization of the Historic Center of Banyoles in Girona, Spain, the Barceloneta Market and its proposed plan for the reinvention of the Seoul National Craft Museum in South Korea. Miās and his associates approach their projects as interdisciplinary exercises that involve personal and intellectual investigations as well as meticulous design considerations. This monograph brings together a selection of projects by MiAS Architects from 2000 to today, documenting the studios design process through photographs, plans and an extensive collection of sketches and models.
