What can a 100-year-old Estonian church’s toilet and the public restroom of Flaminio Railway Station in Rome have in common? The answer is in Estonian artist Jaanus Samma’s (born 1982) Outhouse by the Church. Tackling gender and sociological issues, with an archival approach, Samma documents the graffiti on the Flaminio restroom walls and the remnants of Kodavere’s St Michael’s Church’s outhouse.
