Published by Charta

In her work, Beatriz Millar tries to eliminate any kind of redundancy or superficiality. And, by intensifying a continuous design and zones of pure color, she achieves high-impact effects--both visual and emotional. She has observed works by artists of the past, and has meditated on the meaning of different styles of painting, from those of the Futurists, to Matisse's harmonious silhouettes. Some of her works are dedicated to the Argentinean Tango, others to black prostitutes, and some to scenes taken from film roles played by Marilyn Monroe. This volume documents her creative itinerary from her first works to some of her recent creations such as Coloured Lips, Patch the Flags, Einstein in, Einstein etc and Knesset and Kefiah.
