In addition to hanging an assortment of awesome framed prints, Divine assembled a good old fashioned slide show, just as he used to do for his friends back in the 60s--in the basement of his grandmother’s house in La Jolla following a long day of surfing and shooting his fellow surfers.

This weekend, ARTBOOK @ Paper Chase was host to a vibrant event that transformed the space into a classroom and lecture hall. Photo Camp, presented by Aperture Foundation and Sony, is a three-day bi-costal event in which BFA and MFA students from California and New York schools were nominated to participate.

On Saturday, March 26, the Dexter Sinister "Sometime Bookshop and Ofttime Maker of Projects" space, run by Stuart Bailey and David Reinfurt, was turned into a darkroom-for-a-day in support of a project by Jason Fulford—one of several art workshops in Fulford's itinerant Mushroom Collector series.

On Saturday, January 29th, friends of D.A.P. | ARTBOOK, Eighth Veil and Art Los Angeles Contemporary helped inaugurate our new space on Sunset Boulevard with a party for Fantom, the influential international art photography magazine edited by Cay Sophie Rabinowitz and Selva Barni. Hosted by Jane Brown and Alex Galan of D.A.P. | ARTBOOK and Nicole Katz and Kane Austin of Eighth Veil publishing, the celebration drew artists, photographers, publishers, exhibitors and figures from many of the city's top art institutions, including LACMA Photo curator Edward Robinson, Art Center Photography Chair Dennis Keeley, Santa Monica Museum's Lisa Melandri, and Getty Museum Publications Director, Greg Britton.
