One of Germany's foremost practitioners of action art, Schult has most recently appeared on the Great Wall of China, at the arena of Xanten, under the Grande Arche in Paris, and in front of the Kremlin in Moscow, accompanied by his 100-strong army of trash people, soldiers that he describes as "silent witnesses to a consumer age that has created an ecological imbalance worldwide." Highlights of this and other works provide a trenchant, zany, and provocative look at the work of an artist who recently turned a former Berlin postal building into a "Love Letter Building," complete with love letters sent in from all over Germany.
