| | | WALTHER KöNIG, KöLNGerhard Richter Poster Number 4: Cloud Study, 1970At the artist's initiative, Walther Konig has published the Gerhard Richter Poster Edition, designed by the artist himself. "Cloud Study" is an offset print of a 1970 painting made directly from a transparency. As befits the artist's working methods, this is not a technically perfect reproduction of the painting. After the scan was made, proofs were prepared, and Richter enlarged the image from 31 x 39 inches to 39 x 43 inches, also altering its color, contrast and focus, and deciding the positioning of the image and width of the border. The artist's name and the work's title appear in small, gray capital letters, in the style of a passé-partout. | |
